Jay Briscoe

Delaware police have now issued a report on the car accident that took the life of Ring of Honor star Jay Briscoe and left his daughters injured.

AEW and Ring of Honor owner Tony Khan broke the shocking news of Briscoe’s death on social media. Dave Meltzer followed up by stating that Briscoe appeared to have been killed in a car accident in Laurel, Delaware that claimed the life of another person and left two children hospitalised.

The wrestling world has continued to pay tribute to the ROH star as the industry unites in his grief over losing a friend and colleague to many.

Briscoe’s wife took to social media to ask for prayers as the couple’s 12-year-old daughter Gracie undergoes surgery for injuries she suffered in the crash.

Now Delaware Police Department has issued a report on the incident, confirming that the other fatality was the driver of the other car involved, 27-year-old Lilyanne Ternahan.

The report states that Jay Briscoe was driving his Chevy Silverado 1500 while Ternahan was driving her Chevy Silverado 2500 when her truck crossed lanes into Briscoe’s path causing a head-on collision. The reason for the change of lanes remains unknown.

Both Jay Briscoe and Lilyanne Ternahan were pronounced dead at the scene, Ternahan was said to have been wearing her seatbelt while Briscoe was not. Briscoe’s 9 and 12-year-old daughters were reported to have been “properly restrained” in their own seats – both were admitted to hospital in critical condition.

State Police are continuing their investigations and requesting any witnesses to the accident contact them. Whether or not alcohol was a factor in the collision remains unknown at this time.
