Wrestling World Reacts To Jay Briscoe’s Passing

The entire wrestling world is united in grief as the news broke that ROH star Jay Briscoe passed away at the age of just 38.

AEW and Ring of Honor owner Tony Khan broke the shocking news of Briscoe’s death on social media. Dave Meltzer followed up by stating that Briscoe appeared to have been killed in a car accident in Laurel, Delaware that claimed the life of another person and left two children hospitalised.

Briscoe’s death was acknowledged on NXT which aired live on the USA Network on the 17th of January with commentator Vic Joseph paying tribute to the star while announcing his passing to the watching audience.

More tributes have been paid to Jay Briscoe from all corners of the wrestling world, with many of Briscoe’s former colleagues and rivals sharing their memories of the star.

Jay Briscoe won tag team gold with his brother Mark in both Pro Wrestling NOAH and New Japan Pro Wrestling but he will best be remembered for his exploits in Ring of Honor. The Briscoes are thirteen times – and current – ROH Tag Team Champions while Jay Briscoe has also held the ROH World Championship on two occasions.
