Support and condolences for Jay Briscoe are coming from everywhere, including WWE and NXT.

Earlier today, Jay Briscoe tragically passed away in a car accident in Laurel, Delaware. Following his passing, many of his peers have paid their respects with public statements being posted to Twitter and elsewhere.

And WWE has followed suit in a rare display of the company acknowledging the death of someone that didn’t even wrestle for them.

On the January 17th edition of NXT, the show’s commentators, Vic Joseph & Booker T, took the time to offer condolences to Briscoe’s friends and family.

Jay Briscoe was one of the most decorated wrestlers in ROH history. He was a 13-time ROH World Tag Team Champion alongside his brother Mark and he also held the ROH World Championship twice.

The Briscoes also held tag ream gold in companies like New Japan, NOAH, GCW, CZW, Full Impact Pro, and many other independent promotions across the United States. Their most recent high-profile work included their trilogy of critically-acclaimed matches opposite FTR throughout the 2022 calendar year.

Additionally, both Mark and Jay Briscoe were part of ROH’s first class of Hall of Fame inductees alongside Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, and CM Punk.
