Nick Aldis Lifts Lid On Recent Surgery

Nick Aldis WWE SmackDown

Nick Aldis is a busy man running WWE SmackDown as the General Manager while also suffering a recent injury that required surgery.

The new General Manager of WWE SmackDown was named in October 2023 when the company’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque appointed former NWA & TNA World Champion Nick Aldis in the role while Adam Pearce was named Raw GM.

Behind the scenes, Aldis has worked for WWE since the summer of 2023 as a Producer who helps put together matches. Even though the 37-year-old wrestler has nearly 20 years of pro wrestling experience, he has yet to have a match in WWE.

Earlier in March, Nick Aldis confirmed he had surgery to repair a torn right biceps. Despite the injury, Aldis still appeared on the March 22nd Smackdown and had a jacket on to cover the injury.

During an appearance on Gabby LaSpisa’s Gabby AF podcast, Aldis spoke about his injury while calling it a “freak thing” that happened.

“Before this one, I’ve only had one major surgery my whole career and it was the other bicep. It was just a freak thing. Dr. LeClere in Vanderbilt here in Nashville did a phenomenal job. He works on the Nashville Predators and all sorts of high profile athletes and stuff like that. He did a great job. I feel great. In a stupid splint cast thing for a little bit longer and then hopefully I’ll transition to a brace, kind of like the one that we’re seeing Punk wearing. I’ll be switching into one of those hopefully in time for WrestleMania.”
