The latest report provided a more heartbreaking update on the former Women’s World Champion, Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE future.

Ever since being called up to the main roster, Stephanie Vaquer has been on the rise in WWE’s women’s division. She captured the Women’s World title a few months after her debut and had an amazing run as champion, which lasted for seven months. At WrestleMania 42, Vaquer lost her title to the 2026 women’s Royal Rumble winner, Liv Morgan.

It was later reported that La Primera has sustained a shoulder injury and is expected to be out of action for some time. Meanwhile, more details are provided regarding her injury, which may not be very good news for the fans.

Unfortunate update on Stephanie Vaquer’s future in WWE following injury

According to the latest report by Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, Stephanie Vaquer is expected to be out of action for the foreseeable future, and there is no timetable for her return yet. The report also said that she could be out for six weeks, and the absence could be extended until SummerSlam:

Regarding Stephanie Vaquer’s status, we’re told she’s expected to be on the shelf for the foreseeable future with no official timetable currently in place. One source noted they’ve heard rumblings of a minimum six week absence with the possibility it could extend beyond that. While there’s hope she could recover in time for SummerSlam, there remains some cautious, some cautions, excuse me, surrounding that time frame.”

The report further weighed in on Stephanie getting time to recover from injury:

Hey, you know what? And I think it’s good to be careful with some of these injuries and not have the need to force people back as quickly as we’ve seen in years past… you have the ability now with such a deep roster to have someone as highly regarded as Stephanie at this point in time to give you time to rest up, recover.”

The report concluded, stating that Vaquer could hopefully return to action in six weeks and in time for SummerSlam in August:

So hopefully the six weeks come and go very quickly… the two night SummerSlam could use her, could definitely use somebody like Stephanie… I want to see what’s next for her… hopefully she gets better right quickly and it’s not something that lingers deep into 2026.” [h/t Ringside News]

Only time will tell when La Primera will be back.
