A WWE Hall of Famer highly praised the current AEW World Champion, MJF, but The Salt of the Earth surprisingly had an NSFW response to it. The legend in discussion is Mick Foley.

After parting ways with the WWE a few months back, Mick Foley joined AEW and made his debut during the Double or Nothing 2026 pre-show. During his debut, Foley was confronted by MJF, and after the two traded some shots at each other, Max took down Mick with a low blow.

In a recent interview, Mick Foley also teased coming out of retirement after joining AEW, stating he has one more last good match left in him:

It’s definitely crossed my mind. The cinematic matches have opened up the door for guys whose cardio might be suspect. This loss of 100 pounds made my life so much easier. I used to have to stop a couple of times walking up a moderate hill”

Now, I’m realizing that I’m not really getting winded like I used to. I don’t know. Clearly, if I had a match, it would be a match that would have to avoid trauma to the head. Luckily, there is a whole lot of me to traumatize below the neck. I think I have one more last good match in me,” said Mick.

MJF’s below-the-belt reaction to the WWE legend despite receiving praise

During his recent interview with Ariel Helwani, the WWE legend, Mick Foley hailed MJF for not needing a WrestleMania moment and wanting to stay with AEW instead:

I really respect what he says about not needing a WrestleMania moment because in life, and in wrestling, we get to select our own WrestleMania moments. I’m right on board with Max saying don’t leave a company you love to chase this illusive WrestleMania moment that you can actually create for yourself.”

Foley also declared MJF as the best in the business on the microphone:

This guy, I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say he’s the best in the business on the microphone right now. Man, he’s good. I mean not good, he’s great.” [H/T Ringside News]

Maxwell Jacob Friedman took notice of Mick Foley praise on the X social media platform and shockingly reacted with the following 18+ NSFW GIF featuring Shawn Michaels:

It remains to be seen where the story between MJF and Mick Foley leads to after Max dropped Foley with a low blow on his AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2026.
