A current AEW star has confirmed that he hasn’t closed the door forever on WWE while also talking about his relationship with Triple H. The star in question is Mick Foley.

Although Mick Foley hasn’t wrestled since 2012, he was under a WWE legends deal for years due to his great relationship with Triple H and the McMahon family. A few months back, Foley announced that he didn’t want to be associated with the Stamford-based promotion due to political differences. Mick has now joined AEW, as he debuted there during the Double or Nothing 2026 pre-show, where he received a low blow by MJF following their heated confrontation.

Following his AEW debut, many fans are unsure whether Mick Foley will ever be back to working with the Sports Entertainment Juggernaut again. The WWE Hall of Famer has addressed the same.

AEW veteran on his stance towards a potential WWE return and relationship with Triple H

During his interview with Ariel Helwanithe AEW veteran, Mick Foley revealed his conversations with the WWE higher-ups after he decided to part ways with the company:

Well, the first one was, ‘I respect your stance, and I’ll tell the people in charge.’ Then I did receive a call from someone really high up, and they were saying how Paul was with the physical fitness department, and Linda hasn’t worked in WWE for years.”

Foley further admitted that he hasn’t closed the door forever on a potential WWE return and has no ill will towards the company:

I didn’t close the door forever. I said, as long as this man’s in office…I think more and more people are realizing what he’s doing is cruelty for the sake of cruelty. I have no ill will towards WWE.”

Mick Foley also disclosed that he hasn’t heard from Triple H (aka Paul Levesque) or the McMahon family ever since parting ways with the WWE. Foley also revealed he has had a great history with Levesque, Stephanie, and Vince McMahon, so their friendship is affected:

No, I did not hear from Paul Levesque or anyone from the McMahon family. The saddest part is that I did have a great history with Paul and Stephanie McMahon. Vince McMahon meant so much to me. So I knew going in that it was going to affect those friendships,” Foley stated.     [H/T Ringside News]

Only time will tell if Triple H will address the comments by Mick Foley.
