Liv Morgan Sets Sights On Gold In SmackDown Return

Liv Morgan

Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan made her comeback to WWE after recovering from an injury that cost her the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title.

The May 12th edition of SmackDown saw a big tag team match that saw both Liv Morgan and Dakota Kai suffer injuries. Kai has since undergone surgery for a torn ACL while Morgan was believed to have suffered a shoulder injury.

The injury proved to be serious enough for WWE to strip Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler winning the vacant title on the 29th of May edition of Raw.

On SmackDown in Lafayette, Louisiana Rousey and Baszler added even more gold to their collection as they defeated Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre to unify their belts with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship.

After that bout, the champions did not have long to celebrate as they were confronted by Raquel Rodriguez who said “they” wanted a title rematch as they hadn’t lost the belts. That brought out Liv Morgan, signaling that she’s back and ready to go following her short time on the shelf.

No match has yet been announced for the titles but it looks like Morgan and Rodriguez are the next challengers for the unified championship.
