Kenny Omega Defending IWGP US Title On AEW Dynamite March 29th

Kenny Omega will defend his IWGP US Title on the March 29th edition of AEW Dynamite, according to Tony Khan.

There will be an NJPW title defense on the next edition of AEW Dynamite with Tony Khan announcing that former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is set to defend the IWGP US Title against Jeff Cobb. Khan announced it on Twitter for the March 29th Dynamite in St. Louis.

During tonight’s edition of AEW Rampage, the company will take a closer look at Omega’s title defense against Cobb.

For Kenny Omega, it will be the first time he defends the IWGP US Title since he won it from Will Ospreay in a spectacular match at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in early January.

The match announcement was obviously coming after Cobb had backstage comments following an NJPW show earlier this week. Cobb said he was going to confront Omega on Dynamite, so clearly it was done because the match was going to be announced.

At the NJPW New Year’s Dash show earlier this year, Kenny Omega teamed with Kazuchika Okada to beat Cobb and Aaron Henare in tag team action.

Earlier this week, Kenny Omega returned to singles action on AEW Dynamite when he defeated El Hijo Del Vikingo in the main event of the show. The match was outstanding and praised by many people after it was over.
