John Cena is set to make his WWE return at WrestleMania 42 this weekend.

Cena retired from active competition at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025 following his loss to Gunther in a singles match.

Although Cena has stated that he will not return to in-ring competition, he is set to host WrestleMania 42. He announced this news on March 30, 2026, via his social media account, confirming that he is headed to Las Vegas to host this year’s event.

On this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, Danhausen appeared in a backstage segment with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. While Pearce was on a phone call with Cena, Danhausen made a demand, saying that he deserves an audience with Cena, claiming he is an undefeated superstar and “the new GOAT.”

Pearce informed him that he could speak with Cena at WrestleMania 42, where the Last Real Champion will appear for his hosting duties. Danhausen then performed Cena’s iconic “You Can’t See Me” gesture and noted that he hopes Cena will actually be able to see him before disappearing.

Danhausen Demands Meeting With John Cena Ahead of WrestleMania 42 Return

Following the episode, Danhausen took to Twitter once again, reiterating his desire to speak with Cena. With Cena set to be at WrestleMania, the two could potentially meet and even share a televised segment at the event.

Danhausen tweeted, “Danhausen must find fellow WWE Legend @JohnCena”

Earlier this month, John Cena shared a tweet expressing his excitement for the upcoming WrestleMania event. One of the things he is most enthusiastic about is the opportunity to witness the WrestleMania debut of rising stars like Lash Legend, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Oba Femi, and Stephanie Vaquer.

Since retirement, I’ve met so many wonderful people who’ve shared with me that they saw my first WrestleMania match … and my last. I’m so excited to be able to say “I was there!” for the WM debuts of this incredible group! @LashLegendWWE @WWEJeVonEvans @_trickwilliams @Obaofwwe @Steph_Vaquer
