IYO SKY Breaks Silence On Marriage To WWE Star; Surprise Revealed

The former Women’s World Champion, Iyo Sky, opened up about her marriage to a newly signed WWE star and also disclosed a surprise regarding the same.

Iyo Sky recently announced that she is married to the recently signed WWE star, Naraku (formerly known as Evil). The 39-year-old star recently made his NXT debut after spending the majority of his career in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Naraku and Iyo had been dating each other since their time together on the Japanese wrestling scene before they officially tied the knot.

Through a recent social media post, Iyo Sky made her marriage to Naraku official by sharing her photos from the wedding ceremony along with the following note as well:

On a personal note, we would like to announce that NARAKU (formerly EVIL) of WWE and IYO SKY (formerly Io Shirai) of WWE are now married”

We began our professional wrestling careers in Japan, each seeing different landscapes and ‘skies,’ but starting this early summer, we feel a deep sense of connection and joy at becoming colleagues and comrades as we take on the same stage—WWE—across the ocean.”

From now on, as a married couple, we will support each other in our daily lives. As WWE ‘Superstars,’ we will share both the lonely ‘darkness’ and the glory, lifting each other up and striving to shine even brighter.”

Iyo Sky provided details on her marriage to the new WWE star

During her recent interview with Model Press, Iyo Sky disclosed that she and the WWE star, Naraku haven’t registered their marriage yet, and were hesitant to share their private lives before they became colleagues in the Stamford-based promotion:

We haven’t actually registered our marriage just yet, but the reason is that we’ve finally become colleagues at the same company. Until now, we were in different rings, and as wrestlers and superstars, we were independent of each other, so I felt there was no need to deliberately share details of our private lives”

The Genius of the Sky further stated that she and her husband announced that they were a married couple after they were both under WWE contract:

Now that we’re both under the same WWE contract—colleagues within the same company, so to speak—I really wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone know that we’re now a married couple.” [H/T Fightful]

While Naraku has just started his WWE run in NXT, Iyo Sky is one of the top female stars in the promotion.
