Heartbreaking News For The Rock Ahead Of WWE Royal Rumble
The Rock suffered a major setback ahead of the 2026 Royal Rumble.
The 53-year-old last appeared in WWE at the Elimination Chamber, where his partnership offer was rejected by Cody Rhodes.
Fans expectantly awaited his return, which never came throughout 2025.
The People’s Champ, in the meantime, was busy promoting his new movie, The Smashing Machine, where he played UFC fighter Mark Kerr.
In early December, he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the Best Performance by a Male Actor (Drama) category, which he eventually lost to Brazilian actor Wagner Moura.
The Rock was also tipped to earn an Academy Award nomination. However, in the list for the Best Actor category, his name did not appear, which is sure to have come as a setback for the Hollywood icon.
Upon losing the Golden Globe Award, he revealed how he had planned to celebrate, if he had won, which was by pulling out a special note written to him by his 10-year-old daughter.
The Rock Teases WrestleMania 43 Involvement
In September 2025, WWE confirmed that WrestleMania 43 in 2027 would be held in Saudi Arabia.
This will be the first time that The Grandest Stage of Them All moves out of North America since its premiere in 1985.
The Rock, who is on WWE’s Board of Directors, recently teased his involvement in WrestleMania 43.
Speaking on Raffi Talks, the former World Champion admitted to having talks with the higher-ups in the Stamford promotion.
I’m excited for the brand of WrestleMania. I’m excited for the Kingdom because that is a big show. I’m also excited not only for the brand, but I’m excited for our athletes to be able to participate in an event like that, and that is a global event.
And so I can’t wait. In terms of the conversations I’ve been having, it’s all good. It will always be good.
