The Rock Warned Against Risky Move By WWE Legend
This legendary WWE star has warned the Rock against entering politics.
The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) is one of the most electrifying (pun intended) entertainers of all time. His catchphrases are etched in wrestling fans’ consciousness, and his solid promo work and unmatched charisma helped cement his legacy not only in wrestling but across the grander landscape of popular culture.
To top off his already illustrious wrestling career, The Final Boss has taken over Hollywood since his debut in the movie The Scorpion King in 2002. Johnson has gone on to star in major Hollywood blockbusters and franchises since such as Fast and Furious and Jumanji, superhero and comic book movies like Black Adam and G.I.Joe, making him a beloved figure across generations and cultures. He has also recently been nominated for a Golden Globe award for his role in The Smashing Machine.
The Great One has always been linked to a role in politics, which got to a point where political polling was done on whether he should run for President in the USA. Although The Rock himself has been iffy about entering politics despite teasing the idea, many feel that it would tarnish his image and reputation as an entertainer.
Glen Jacobs (Kane) Warns The Rock Against Entering Politics
Another former WWE megastar, Kane, who later entered the world of politics as the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, recently warned The Rock against getting into politics in an interview.
When asked by the interviewer about what he feels regarding The Rock’s possible involvement in politics in the future, Jaocbs revealed that the world of politics is contentious and toxic, and he would advise The Rock to hold on to his image as a great entertainer and avoid getting into politics because everybody likes him as he’s a good guy.
“If I were him, I wouldn’t. Politics is incredibly contentious and toxic right now. Everybody likes Dwayne, no matter where you are in the political spectrum, because he’s a great entertainer and just a good guy.
“Gotta remember, no matter what you say in politics, 50% of people are just going to knee-jerk disagree with you, and you’re going to really tick some folks off. I’ve had to deal with that, obviously. If I were him, I would advise him not to do that, personally.”
Jacobs went on to add that behind-the-scenes political work and philanthropy are also good ways to have an impact, and if he actually enters politics, he would end up alienating 50% of his fanbase.
“And he can still have an impact, obviously, you see folks that do great work through philanthropy, as well as getting in politics behind the scenes. And that can be just as important as what happens out in the public eye.
“So I would advise him not to, because it’s not one of those things where you can go in and he’s really famous and everybody’s going to like him. No, what’s going to happen is you’re going to immediately alienate 50% of your fanbase, which can be an uncomfortable place to be.”
