Finn Balor Talks Getting To Show More Creativity With The Judgment Day

Finn Balor has opened up about how he is really enjoying his time with The Judgment Day because he gets to show more creativity in his current persona.

Earlier this year, Finn Balor ended his run as a babyface on the Raw brand and became a heel that joined The Judgment Day. After Balor became an ally of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, the group kicked out the group’s founder Edge. They have also added Dominik Mysterio to the group.

Since The Judgment Day really made their presence felt on Raw, the group has targeted some WWE legends like Hall of Famer Edge, Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles.

At Survivor Series this past Saturday, Balor lost a singles match with AJ Styles in part because AJ’s friends in The OC Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson took out Priest and Dominik on the floor. That allowed Styles to focus on the match and pick up the big win with a Phenomenal Forearm leading to a pinfall win.

During a recent interview with BTSport’s The Run In, Balor spoke about the creativity he has with the group while noting that he didn’t really have it before, which is likely a way of saying it’s different now with Triple H running WWE Creative since late July compared to how it was with Vince McMahon before that.

“That’s something that was stifled for a lot of years with just the way things work, working for such a big company with so many different departments that you have to keep happy. Everything from merchandise to TV to media, you have to keep all these departments happy. Sometimes, I’ve done that at the expense of my own happiness, that’s something that I’ve changed in recent years and I feel like that’s helped me flourish.”

Balor also named the moment where he felt that The Judgment Day turned a corner as a group and he picked the event where Dominik turned on his father Rey and Edge.

“Clash at the Castle. The build up to that match, especially, but when we were all laughing at Rey having just gotten kicked in the balls by his son.”
