A former WWE star is the latest to join TNA as the company known as IMPACT Wrestling returns to its roots.

IMPACT Wrestling shocked the world when it announced it was returning to its TNA name. The re-brand will officially take place at the Hard To Kill pay-per-view on January 13 that will be headlined by Alex Shelley defending his TNA World Championship against Moose.

At the recent Final Resolution event, TNA President Scott D’Amore announced that former WWE NXT star Trent Seven was signing with the company. Seven made his shock debut for the promotion at Final Resolution as Santino Marella turned Mike Bailey’s singles match with Trey Miguel into a tag team affair with Seven joining Bailey against Miguel and Zachary Wentz. Seven and Bailey picked up the win before D’Amore made his shock announcement.

When Was TNA’s Trent Seven In WWE?

Trent Seven joined WWE in early 2017 as part of the NXT UK brand. For most of his run in the company, Seven teamed up with his Moustache Mountain partner Tyler Bate to great success as they held both the NXT and NXT UK Tag Team Championships at different times.

Seven turned on Bate in June 2022, ending their partnership and while Bate remained with WWE, Trent Seven was released by WWE in August 2022 as NXT UK came to its end.

Since leaving, Trent Seven has also made an appearance in AEW in December 2022, unsuccessfully challenging Orange Cassidy for his AEW All-Atlantic Championship.
