An ex-WWE name has landed in TNA.

On December 13th it was announced that KUSHIDA had signed with TNA Wrestling. In recent months the star had featured regularly for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, although he’s wrestled for TNA/IMPACT Wrestling on multiple occasions in 2023.

KUSHIDA wrestled for WWE between 2019 and 2022 where he won the Cruiserweight Championship. After leaving WWE the star headed back to NJPW.

Interestingly, KUSHIDA has confirmed that he’ll continue to work with NJPW despite his new deal with TNA.

Appearing on the Battleground Podcast, the star expressed his excitement at joining the company.

“I’m so happy. I’m so excited. I want to say my contract status…the relationship between me and New Japan Pro-Wrestling can remain, and there is no need [to] change. So I also signed with TNA. I would like to thank Scott D’Amore,”

The news comes after it was revealed that Trent Seven had also signed with TNA Wrestling. Seven is a veteran of the UK and European wrestling scene and spent time with NXT and NXT UK between 2016 and 2022. During this period he won the NXT UK and NXT Tag Team Titles alongside Tyler Bate.

However, with the closure of NXT UK in 2022, Seven was released.

Meanwhile, Tyler Bate has been linked with a call-up to Raw or SmackDown.
