Fans hoping to see Drew McIntyre at WWE live events after Christmas are out of luck because he has been taken off the road due to an injury.

Drew McIntyre has been taken off multiple WWE live events that he was advertised for. It has been reported by PWInsider that the reason a change was made to the Madison Square Garden main event on Monday, December 26th is because Drew will not be cleared to compete.

The plan was for the MSG live event in New York City was for McIntyre to take part in an eight-man tag team match main event. It was reported two weeks ago that McIntyre was out of action due to suffering a ruptured eardrum during the WarGames match at Survivor Series on November 26th. Roman Reigns suffered a similar injury in the same match, but he is set to return to the ring on Smackdown on December 30th. Reigns will team with Sami Zayn against John Cena and Kevin Owens.

The last time McIntyre was at a live event in Portland, Maine on November 27th, but after some medical testing, the company decided to keep him out of the ring until he was healed up.

On December 5th, Drew McIntyre tweeted about being medically disqualified from competing on the December 9th edition of Smackdown as a tag team with Sheamus getting a WWE Tag Team Title match against The Usos. Butch replaced McIntyre in the match that was won by The Usos.

The report from PWInsider noted that Drew McIntyre will not be appearing in any form at the live events next week.

The WWE roster will have a busy post-Christmas tour with Raw & Smackdown live events taking place in multiple cities from December 26th to December 29th before the final WWE show of the year, which is Smackdown on December 30th in Tampa.
