A current AEW Champion returned to their home country recently, where they made a bold prediction about their future.

For weeks, Kyle Fletcher teased coming after Tommaso Ciampa, vowing to beat him and reclaim the TNT Championship. Their match was finalized for the February 11 episode of Dynamite.

The match with a 20-minute limit went the distance, as both superstars refused to stay down, resulting in multiple near falls.

In the end, it was the Australian who got the best of his veteran counterpart as he hit a Brainbuster for the successful pinfall.

On Friday, Fletcher appeared at a house show in Sydney, but not empty-handed.

He brought the TNT Championship to Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA) at the Metro Theatre, where he was cheered with ‘welcome home’ chants, giving him a hero’s welcome that he said he deserved.

The 27-year-old then made a bold prediction about his AEW future, claiming that he would visit again, but as the World Champion.

Everywhere I go all over the entire world I will always be flying the PWA flag. I will always be flying the flag for Sydney, for Australia, and for each and every one of you motherf—–s right here. Tonight, I brought the AEW TNT Championship back to PWA and one day it will be the world f—-ing title, I promise you. [H/T: Ringside News]

Kyle Fletcher To Defend TNT Championship At AEW Grand Slam Australia

After his match against Tommaso Ciampa, Kyle Fletcher was interviewed by Renee Paquette.

Fletcher said that he was going to his home country not only to represent AEW, but he will defend his title against any challenger at Grand Slam Australia.

The statement prompted Mark Briscoe to come out and accept the challenge. Although initally reluctant, Fletcher agreed to the match under the condition that their long history would end regardless of the outcome.

Briscoe and Fletcher have faced each other on six occasions previously, both securing 3 wins each. Their bout at Grand Slam Australia will be their seventh.
