Booker T Urges WWE To Sign Free Agent

Booker T

WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T believes the company should secure the services of a big name free agent.

Alex Hammerstone has been a leading name in MLW in recent years and held the MLW World Heavyweight Championship for 644 days before dropping the title to Alex Kane at Never Say Never on 8th July 2023.

With his MLW contract having expired on 1st January 2024, Hammerstone is currently competing as a free agent and has signed to battle Josh Alexander at TNA Hard To Kill on 13th January.

Despite the upcoming TNA appearance, Booker T believes that WWE should act quickly to snap up the former MLW National Openweight Champion.

Speaking on a recent edition of his podcast, ‘Hall of Fame with Booker T & Brad Gilmore’,the five-time WCW Champion urged WWE to sign the highly sought after free agent:

“Hammerstone, that dude right there, I would like to see him get a shot. I really would. I really would like to see that guy get a shot.”

The current NXT commentator elaborated on his statement, noting that he believed the 32 year-old had all the tools required for success in WWE:

“I think he covers all those bases, he checks off all of those boxes. I haven’t seen a whole lot of his work or anything like that. I would love to see that guy get a shot.”
