Big E has no interest in taking on a new WWE role.

Big E has been with the WWE for several years now. He started in NXT, where he won the brand’s top prize. After moving to the main roster, he formed The New Day along with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

As a member of The New Day, Big E was able to get over with the fans. This eventually led him to win his first and only WWE Championship. Unfortunately, Big E suffered a brutal neck injury during a match on the 11th March 2022 episode of SmackDown after he was dropped on his head by Ridge Holland. Since then, he has been out of action, and he even recently announced his in-ring retirement. The former WWE Champion has taken on the role of a panelist for WWE PLEs. He is also happy with his current role.

Big E doesn’t want to be a WWE commentator

During a recent appearance on The A2theK Wrestling Show, Big E revealed that Michael Cole has stopped him and asked him about doing commentary. While he appreciates the belief, he does not want to be on the road again.

“So, actually, you know, I’m grateful to Michael Cole for multiple times. He kind of stopped me and asked me about doing commentary. I’ve had other people ask me about doing commentary. So, that has definitely come up. I will say I am grateful for that belief. I truly truly appreciate it. But I just know where I’m at in life as someone who did the road grind. I did it. I’m grateful for it. Frankly, I just don’t want to be on the road like that every single week. It’s a lot, man. It’s a lot of time.”

The former WWE Champion also added what the grind would look like if he were working RAW or SmackDown. Additionally, he also enjoys spending weekends with his fiancée, Kristen. He also tipped his cap to Michael Cole and other commentators who have been on the road for a long time.

“And mind you, like if you’re doing SmackDown, you’re leaving on Thursdays and you’re coming home on Saturdays. If that’s international, you might not come home till very late Saturday, but you know, so that’s that. So that’s a part of your weekend’s gone. Same thing with with RAW. You’re traveling on Sundays.”

“So the idea of you know, I love my lazy weekends. You know, I’m still working. I’m still doing a lot of other things, juggling other projects, but my lazy weekends with my lady with Kristen where we’re just like that time together or the time I now get….Here’s the problem is I realize there’s life outside of wrestling and it ain’t that bad, you know? It’s kind of nice.”

“It’s nice to be able to do stuff with friends or to go on a vacation. Like, I want to live, man. And I tip of the cap to Cole and to so many of these commentators that have been doing this for decades. I am so blown away like that sacrifice to have been on the road for that long and do so much of that.”

Big E further stated that he’s happy with his current schedule of working PLEs since it keeps him involved in the business.

“The nice thing with my current schedule with being a broadcaster for the PLE’s is I’m still involved. I really love getting to I got to do a host a Netflix show called Raw Classics. Just kind of breaking down some of the old school our library and some newer stuff as well and just kind of getting to walk some newer fans through a lot of the history of WWE and maybe some current fans as well.” [H/T Ringside News]

It’s a shame that Big E doesn’t want to take on the role of commentator because he would be good at it.
