Bobby Lashley Defending US Title In Steel Cage Match On Raw

The Miz has claimed that he can beat Bobby Lashley for the United States Title, so he challenged Lashley to a Steel Cage Match on Raw. The “All Mighty” champion accepted.

The United States Title was not defended at the massive WWE Clash at the Castle event on Saturday in Cardiff, Wales, so The Miz decided to challenge for the coveted championship in a match on Raw.

It was last Monday on Raw in Pittsburgh when the United States Champion Bobby Lashley faced The Miz in a singles match. The match was not for the title. During the match, The Miz was focused on the task at hand until he spotted Dexter Lumis standing by an entryway in the crowd. Miz was distracted because on the August 22nd episode of Raw, Lumis grabbed Miz over the barricade and walked him out of the arena.

The match was still going on as The Miz was distracted by Lumis and when Miz turned around, Lashley was ready with The Hurt Lock submission for the tapout win. After the match, The Miz complained to his friend Ciampa, who didn’t see Lumis in the crowd.

Later that night on Raw, The Miz was shown leaving the building in a black truck. What he didn’t know is that as he drove away, there was a light that went on in the back and it was Dexter Lumis in the car that Miz was driving. There was no follow-up to what happened after Miz drove away.

While on vacation with his lovely wife Maryse, the two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion The Miz issued a challenge to Lashley while writing:

The fact that the #USChampionship is not represented at #WWECastle is a slap in the face to every legend who has ever held it. Maryse and I may be on vacation, but this Monday it’s back to business. #WWERaw Lashley vs. Miz for the US Title inside a steel cage. #NoDistractions

The Miz and Lashley, who accepted the challenge, each posted videos on social media that you can watch below.

The match was made official by WWE so it will be Bobby Lashley defending the US Title against The Miz in a Steel Cage match this coming Monday on Raw.

This Monday’s edition of Raw takes place at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. As always, you can read about what happens on Raw right here on TJRWrestling.
