AJ Lee Finally Reunites With Ex-WWE Partner In Emotional Moment

September 20, 2025, was a big day for AJ Lee.

The former WWE Divas Champion competed for the promotion at Wrestlepalooza for the first time in over ten years.

Not only did she team up with her husband, CM Punk, but also submitted Becky Lynch to cost her and Seth Rollins the mixed tag team match.

As the Stamford promotion does these days, there was a scheduled post-show after the event and a dedicated segment for the duo to talk about their bout.

When she arrived for the post-show, AJ Lee reunited with her former stablemate Big E, who now performs in other roles since retiring from wrestling due to an injury.

Lee shook hands with with panelists Joe Tessitore and Peter Rosenberg. She then pointed towards Big E, walked up to him and gave him a long hug. Watch it below from 26:30.

AJ Lee Reminds Big E Of The Sternum Incident

AJ Lee turned heel in 2012 by teaming up with Dolph Ziggler, followed by Big E joining them as the bodyguard.

The trio were involved in several entertaining matches and segments until their disbandment in 2013.

During the post-show, Big E gushed about how proud he was of her return to wrestling after 10+ years.

Lee quipped, “That was like straight to the heart, kind of like when you almost broke my sternum.” An embarrassed Big E asked her if they could move on, when she said that she’d been waiting for that “receipt.”

The incident goes…during one of their entrances around WrestleMania 29, Big E hyped himself, just as he usually would during their entrance.

This time around, unfortunately, AJ Lee was too close and within his reach; as he swung his arm, he accidentally clocked her hard across the chest. AJ, however, powered through, keeping a straight face.
