AEW has announced the date and location for the 2023 edition of Winter Is Coming.

Tony Khan first introduced Winter Is Coming as a themed edition of AEW Dynamite back in December 2020. That show is famous for Kenny Omega winning the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley in the main event as he solidified his heel turn and partnership with the devious Don Callis.

The show, however, is probably best remembered as playing host to the AEW debut of Sting. The appearance of Sting marked his first time on the TNT network since facing Ric Flair on the final episode of WCW Nitro in March 2001. Ric Flair made his own AEW debut recently as he vowed to walk the last chapter of Sting’s career with his old rival.

AEW Confirms Winter Is Coming Return To Texas

The 2021 and 2022 editions of Winter Is Coming saw MJF take the main event spots with his Dynamite Diamond ring on the line. In 2021, MJF defeated Dante Martin but the stakes were raised in 2022 with The Salt of the Earth’s AEW World Title on the line against Ricky Starks. On both occasions, MJF picked up the win.

On the 4th of November edition of AEW Collision, the 2023 Winter Is Coming show was announced. It will take place in the College Park Center in Arlington Texas on December 13. Tickets for the event are on sale via AEW’s website. No matches have yet been announced for the show.
