AEW Legend Reacts To Sting’s Son Wanting To Be A Wrestler
An AEW legend believes that Sting’s son “looks the part” of a pro wrestler.
The first All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view event of 2024 was a show called Revolution that was built around the retirement of WWE & TNA Hall of Famer Sting.
Revolution was the end of Sting’s three-year run in AEW as a wrestler that saw him retire with a 29-0 record as The Stinger & Darby Allin defeated The Young Bucks to retain the AEW Tag Team Titles in a chaotic Tornado Tag Team Match.
That tag team match at Revolution also featured The Stinger’s two adult sons Garrett & Steven Borden (Sting’s real name is Steve Borden). The brothers were attacked by The Young Bucks in the weeks before Revolution, so they were there to settle the score. Garrett was dressed like the blonde-haired version of his father early in his career while Steven was dressed like NWO Wolfpac Stinger from the late 1990s.
At Revolution, Garrett & Steven got physically involved in the match and certainly looked like they belonged in the ring.
Following the match, it turns out that Steven got the wrestling bug because he has been training to wrestle at Darby Allin’s house where he has a ring, and even was camping outside Allin’s house as well.
Legendary AEW wrestler Adam Copeland, who is in WWE’s Hall of Fame like the Stinger is, spoke to Sports Illustrated about Steven Borden training to be a wrestler.
“I think at Revolution there in Greensboro, he got a bit of the itch. He felt what it is. And once you feel that, man, it’s hard to walk away from that. It’s hard to go, ‘wait that wasn’t cool’. You’re going to go, ‘That was really cool and really fun.
“It’s a great gig. So I think he felt that also in terms of his physicality. I mean, he’s 6-3. He’s about 230 pounds. He’s probably sitting about eight percent body fat. He looks the part. He’s got a good head on his shoulders, very similar to his dad in how he conducts himself, which is a great thing.”
Copeland would go on to say that Steven Borden is smart and “I think if he wants to do it, he absolutely could do it.”
Earlier this week, AEW’s Dax Harwood of the FTR tag team posted a photo of himself with Adam Copeland, Cash Wheeler, Darby Allin, and Steven Borden, who was the tallest man in the photo.

Sting Returned At AEW All In To Save Darby Allin
After his retirement, the legendary Stinger stayed away from AEW television since he’s retired. However, Sting did make an unannounced return at AEW All In London when he saved Darby Allin from an attack from The Elite’s Jack Perry and The Young Bucks.
AEW Owner Tony Khan has also gone on record as saying that Sting’s comeback in AEW, which saw him return to the ring after six years away, was the “greatest comeback in sports history.”
