3-Time World Champion Set To Miss AEW Redemption

AEW Redemption is set to take place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It will be the first AEW PPV to be held in Montreal.

Unfortunately, the 3-time World Champion MJF won’t be a part of this big upcoming event.

MJF dropped the AEW World Championship to Kenny Omega at Dynamite: Beach Break on July 8, 2026. Following his title loss, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed during Thursday’s Redemption media call that The Salt of the Earth is resting and letting his body heal after a very busy, hard-hitting year of matches.

In the latest report, Fightful Select has stated that, as far as they’ve heard on the matter, MJF is not expected to be at AEW Redemption in any capacity. The report noted that AEW is planning to bring MJF back sometime before All In.

“We’ve not heard anything about MJF’s involvement at Redemption as of now. He is expected to be factored into All In.”

AEW Redemption 2026 Match Card

AEW Redemption has a total of ten matches on the card. One match is scheduled for the pre-show.
