Final Interim WWE Women’s Title Ladder Match Qualifier To Feature Former Champions

The qualifying bouts for the Interim WWE Women’s Ladder Match have reached their business end.

Due to a legitimate injury suffered by Rhea Ripley and her inability to defend her title at SummerSlam, it was announced that an interim champion would be crowned to represent the women’s division on SmackDown.

Last week, two women – Tiffany Stratton & Jade Cargill – qualified, securing for themselves an appearance at this year’s Biggest Party of the Summer.

On July 24, Chelsea Green defeated Kiana James to get her name added to the list. Later in the evening, 14-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair faced Nia Jax after costing the latter an opportunity to qualify against Cargill last week.

As Jax dominated the match, the trio of Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab came down the aisle. While Michin and B-Fab tried to attack Flair outside the ring, they were neutralized by The Queen.

Flair then went into the ring and prevented Cargill from entering by punching her off the apron. As Flair was focused on Jax, Cargill went into the ring and laid Charlotte out with a forearm to give her a victory by disqualification. She then hit Jaded on Flair for good measure.

Nia Jax was frustrated and destroyed the commentator’s desk by the ringside. She then headed backstage to speak to Adam Pearce, who was announced as the interim WWE SmackDown general manager.

Final Qualifying Match For Interim WWE Women’s Title Announced

Adam Pearce had a busy evening in Oakland, California, thanks to the WWE SmackDown episode kicking off with a contract signing between Gunther and Nick Aldis for a match at SummerSlam.

The segment broke out into a brawl between the competitors, with Pearce getting caught in their midst.

Gunther took advantage of Aldis’ distraction and put him through a table.

In an exclusive video shared on WWE’s social media pages, a segment featuring Pearce and Giulia was interrupted by Nia Jax and Lash Legend.

Jax, displeased with getting disqualified for the second consecutive week, demanded that she be added to the final qualifying bout for the interim women’s title.

Pearce said that everyone needed to earn their qualifying spot, and Giulia had earned it. He also added Lash Legend to the match, completely ignoring Nia Jax’s pleas.

While Jax did not protest the decision, it remains to be seen if she plays any role in next week’s match between Giulia and Legend.
