AEW Star Reveals What They Told Cody Rhodes After Segment With The Rock

Cody Rhodes

An AEW wrestler has shared what he told Cody Rhodes after a recent interaction with The Rock on WWE television.

Anthony Ogogo is a boxer who has also become a professional wrestler. The man who had a big hand in training him was former AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes, who is now one of the top superstars in WWE.

During his AEW career, Ogogo hasn’t wrestled that much. However, his biggest match was at AEW Double Or Nothing 2021 against Cody. They had an awkward feud with promos that didn’t work that well and segments that the fans rejected.

In their match at Double or Nothing, Cody Rhodes picked up the win in an average match and that was the end of the rivalry.

After winning WWE’s Royal Rumble match for the second year in a row, Cody Rhodes has gone on a bit of an unusual path to WrestleMania 40 by first declaring that he wouldn’t challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, but then that changed after fans rejected WWE’s idea of putting Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Cody’s spot.

At the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Press Event in Las Vegas, Reigns insulted Cody and his late father Dusty Rhodes. That led to Cody telling Rock & Reigns that their grandfathers would be ashamed of them. That led to Rock slapping Cody in the face.

While talking to Boxing Scene, Ogogo shared his thoughts on what Cody is doing in WWE these days with Reigns and Rock on the road to WrestleMania 40.

“I saw Cody in the ring with The Rock the other day, I saw it on YouTube, over a 100m views or whatever and I thought….”

“I took a screenshot. And I just thought, ‘F**k. I was in the ring with him a couple of years ago, now he’s in with the biggest star in the world’. Everyone knows The Rock.”

“I’m happy for Cody. He’s a very good professional wrestler. He’s worked hard. He’s bet on himself. I’m happy for him.”

“And I text Cody and said, ‘Mate, this is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a long time. Buzzing for you. Go get it’. That’s what I texted him. And I mean that, it’s a big thing for him.”
