AEW Star Will Be P*ssed If The Rock Headlines WrestleMania 40

The Rock cuts a promo on WWE Raw

Not everyone will be happy to see The Rock if he gets back in the ring at WrestleMania.

On January 1st, The Rock sparked chaos across the wrestling world by referencing Roman Reigns during his most recent WWE comeback. Since then, The Great One has repeatedly hinted that fans might not have to wait too long to see him again.

Should the WWE legend get back in the ring it will likely be for the often-rumoured match with Reigns at WrestleMania, which means that Cody Rhodes would be forced to step aside, leaving his story unfinished — again.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Dustin Rhodes was firmly in his brother Cody’s corner, admitting he’ll be less than pleased if he has to make way.

“I hope Cody’s in the main event spot against Roman,” said Rhodes. “Or it’s going to be The Rock. If it is The Rock, I’m p*ssed–this is Cody’s time. He is becoming the face of the company, and it’s paying off. But I get it. If it is The Rock, it’s still good business. I understand that there are a lot of people who love seeing The Rock. But I still think it’s Cody’s moment.”

WWE Might Not Be Able To Turn Down The Rock

Although Cody Rhodes is perfectly placed to face Reigns and has been positioned as the man to defeat the Tribal Chief for almost a year, some believe WWE might have no option but to make him wait.

One of those people is Lex Luger, who said it might be a case of now or never for The Rock and WWE. Luger added that given the Hollywood megastar’s age, this might be the last chance for him to get back in the ring.

Dustin Rhodes will be back in action on the January 17th episode of AEW Dynamite when he challenges Christian Cage for the TNT Championship. Rhodes will be looking for a measure of revenge after Cage disparaged his legendary father Dusty on an episode of Collision.
