AEW Revolution Segment Gets Audible Groans Backstage
An offhand comment during AEW Revolution didn’t go down well backstage.
New wrestling biopic “Queen of the Ring” was officially released on March 7. The movie charts the life and career of Mildred Burke while featuring several well-known wrestling names.
The likes of Toni Storm, Kamille, Britt Baker, and more all appear in the movie, while Jim Ross worked as an Executive Producer. So, it was no surprise to see several members of the cast in the crowd for AEW Revolution.
However, several people within AEW were quickly left wishing they’d simply let the actors watch the show without a short interview segment with Tony Schiavone. When asked what she’d learned about wrestling, Damaris Lewis pointed out loud and clear that matches were pre-determined.
“One thing I learned about pro wrestlers, you all know you’re going to win before anybody else does. So thank you for teaching me that,”
According to a report from Fightful Select, the comment was met with “audible groans backstage.”
AEW Star “Persona Non Grata”
Despite starring in the movie, Kamille hasn’t been acknowledged as being part of the project on AEW television. In fact, the star has been missing since being taken out of action back in November by Mercedes Mone.
While doing press for the movie, Kamille refused to comment on her AEW future with a co-star, joking that she wouldn’t be answering any questions. This was followed by a report after Revolution that the former NWA Women’s Champion has become “persona non grata.”
There’s no word on if or when Kamille will ever return to the company.
