Only One Man Can Bring WWE Icon John Cena Out Of Retirement
The former 17-time WWE Champion, John Cena revealed the name of the person who could bring him out of retirement. The man in discussion is none other than Elon Musk.
John Cena was the face of the WWE for many years and is considered one of the greatest of all time. After serving the company for years, the leader of Cenation had his retirement tour throughout last year. In his final match, Cena lost to Gunther by shockingly tapping out. Since his in-ring retirement, Cena has made sporadic appearances at WrestleMania 42 and Backlash 2026 in non-wrestling roles.
Meanwhile, John Cena could come out of in-ring retirement if it were up to the Global Business tycoon and World’s Richest Man, Elon Musk. Cena recently appeared at the SpaceCon San Antonio where he joked about the same.
While interacting with fans, John Cena joked that Elon Musk would have to give up a whole lot of his fortune to convince him to come out of retirement:
I’m going to put this in terms the room hopefully understands. I cannot speak in absolutes, I don’t control that. But I think the only person that can convince me to come back given recent events would be Mr. Elon Musk. He’d have to give up a whole lot of his fortune to do so. So, until he does that, I think I’m going to stay retired.” [H/T Fightful]

John Cena recently made a revelation about his WWE retirement tour
Following his in-ring retirement, Cena also announced ‘The John Cena Classic’ tournament at Backlash 2026. In a recent interview, Cena revealed that he himself approached WWE about his retirement tour as well as the ‘John Cena Classic’:
I approached them about the retirement tour. That was my idea. And so is the John Cena Classic. Now, the retirement tour took a year and a half for me to develop. It took a year and a half after I pitched and they accepted it for the WWE to curate and develop.”
Cena further revealed his conversation with Triple H about the tournament:
That was a very long lead, and the John Cena Classic took four or five months for me to get a proper situation where I could talk to Triple H and they’ve digested the information. We’ve been working out the details for about two months now, and we’re going forward. We’re going to give it a shot.”
Only time will tell when the Leader of Cenation will return on WWE TV.
