Absent AEW Star Appears At NJPW Event

An AEW wrestler who has been off television for a long time has resurfaced at a NJPW event.

The last time Jack Perry was seen at an AEW event was at All In London on August 27th. At that show, Perry lost the FTW Championship to Hook on the pre-show.

What fans remember most about Perry on that particular night is that Perry got into an altercation with former AEW World Champion CM Punk in the backstage area. This took place right as the main show was about to begin with Punk preparing to face Samoa Joe in the opening match.

While the Perry-Punk fight got a lot of attention, there was more chaos backstage that led to AEW Owner/President Tony Khan firing CM Punk one week later. It got so chaotic that Khan went on AEW Collision to say “my life was in danger” because of Punk. As for Perry, it was reported that he was suspended for his actions as well, but it was not known how long he was suspended for.

It was about three months after the All In fight when CM Punk signed with WWE to return “home” and appear at Survivor Series in Chicago.

As for Perry, there were no updates on his AEW status. However, the former Jungle Boy is back after making his presence felt on Saturday night.

Jack Perry Appears At NJPW Battle In The Valley, Rips Up AEW Contract

At NJPW Battle in the Valley, Jack Perry appeared at a wrestling show for the first time since August 2023.

Perry arrived with a thick beard. Perry attacked Shota Umino at ringside and hit him with a running knee to the face. Perry also held up an armband that said “Scapegoat” on it. In addition to that, Perry also ripped up a contract that said AEW on it.

It’s not yet known if it’s a storyline, but since AEW & NJPW are closely aligned, it certainly could be some sort of storyline to make it seem like Perry has left AEW.
