Updated WWE SummerSlam Lineup – All 10 Matches Are Singles Matches, 6 Title Matches

TJR Wrestling

The last episodes of Smackdown and 205 Live aired this week to give us what could be the final lineup for SummerSlam on Sunday…unless WWE adds more matches to it.

What’s unique about the SummerSlam lineup so far is that all ten matches are singles matches. I can’t remember the last time that happened or if they ever had a card with ten matches that were all singles matches.

This week on Raw, Dolph Ziggler signed a contract for a SummerSlam match against The Miz. However, The Miz and Shawn Michaels informed Ziggler that his match would be against somebody else…Bill Goldberg. This was expected after it was reported last week. Ziggler has been mocking Goldberg for weeks and complaining about legends, so it makes sense that Goldberg showed up and signed the contract.

On 205 Live, Oney Lorcan won a six-way number one contender’s match to earn a title shot at Drew Gulak’s Cruiserweight Title. I will have a 205 Live review posted on Wednesday at some point.

Roman Reigns, who is on WWE’s SummerSlam poster, isn’t in an official match yet. They will probably announce a match for him before the end of the week either in a singles match against Daniel Bryan or in a tag match against Bryan and Rowan with Samoa Joe teaming up with Reigns.

Two rumored matches are likely not taking place. The Women’s Tag Team Titles were going to be on the line, but they did it on Raw instead and had Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross win the titles. Sami Zayn vs. Aleister Black was expected, but they did it on Smackdown instead.

Drew McIntyre vs. Cedric Alexander has been teased as well. They had a brawl on Raw with no match, so maybe the match could be added at SummerSlam.

How many matches on the final card? I don’t know. It will be at least 10 and I think they’ll probably settle on 12 or 13 by the time we get to Sunday, but I’m not sure exactly what the plans are.

Universal Championship: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton

Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens (If Owens loses, he quits)

Raw Women’s Championship Submission Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Natalya

United States Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Ricochet

Charlotte Flair vs. Trish Stratus

Bill Goldberg vs. Dolph Ziggler

Finn Balor vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt

Smackdown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Ember Moon

Cruiserweight Championship: Drew Gulak (c) vs. Oney Lorcan

We will have a SummerSlam preview posted on Friday and then I’ll review SummerSlam live on TJRWrestling on Sunday night.
