Tag Team Match Added to WWE Super Showdown, Women’s Match May Take Place, Updated Lineup

TJR Wrestling

The next WWE pay-per-view event is Super Showdown, which takes place this Friday, June 7th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The wrestlers are flying to Saudi Arabia for what is about 18 hours of flying.

Earlier today, WWE announced a tag team match has been added to WWE Super Showdown as well and it will take place on the Kickoff Show.

At WWE Super ShowDown Kickoff, The Usos once again engage The Revival in what is quickly becoming an intense tag team rivalry.

The Usos kickstarted the issues through a series of pranks and jokes at the expense of former Raw Tag Team Champions Dawson & Dash, but matters turned (Uce)-erious in a hurry when the “Top Guys” used somewhat nefarious means to defeat the six-time Tag Team Champions on Raw.

Both teams somewhat begrudgingly called a truce for a special Memorial Day Barbecue, though they nearly ended the temporary detente when tempers flared during a heated game of cornhole. The following week, Dash, Dawson & Drew McIntyre scored a controversial victory over The Usos and their cousin Roman Reigns, just four days before WWE Super ShowDown. Now, the stage is set for an explosive tag team follow-up.

The Saudi General Sports Authority will host WWE Super ShowDown when it comes to the WWE Universe from the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. The special WWE Super ShowDown Kickoff begins at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on WWE Network as well as WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter!

That should be a great match although WWE was really late in announcing the match.

In other news about WWE Super Showdown, women’s wrestlers Natalya and Alexa Bliss are also traveling to Jeddah with the WWE crew. Both women posted about on Instagram. While it hasn’t been confirmed by WWE yet, it is believed that WWE wants to add a Natalya vs. Alexa Bliss match to the Super Showdown event.

It’s not known yet if it will happen, but when I asked a WWE source about it they said “fingers crossed” as far as hoping it will happen.

As we have reported in the past, the Saudi General Sports Authority is running the event with WWE and they have laws in Saudi Arabia that prevent women’s wrestling matches from taking place. However, WWE

Renee Young is also going to Jeddah for Super Showdown (as you can see in the photo above) because she’s part of the announce team. She did commentary at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia last November as well.

Here’s the lineup for Super Showdown for this Friday, June 7.

The Undertaker vs. Bill Goldberg

Triple H vs. Randy Orton

Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon

Universal Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Baron Corbin

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley

Intercontinental Championship: “Demon” Finn Balor (c) vs. Andrade

Lars Sullivan vs. Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado)

50-man battle royal

The Usos vs. The Revival (Kickoff Show)

That’s the official lineup for now. We will have coverage of Super Showdown on Friday. It will probably be live, but my review may end up being posted later on Friday. I’m not sure yet.
