WWE is scheduled to hold WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, KSA was not the original destination for the premium live event planned by WWE.

Andrew Baydala recently revealed that, according to the Nashville Tourism Group and Tennessee Titans, WrestleMania 43 was originally planned to take place at the new Nissan Stadium in Nashville. However, the planned date did not work out because the venue, which is still under construction, is scheduled to be completed in February 2027.

Given the completion date and the WrestleMania 43 timeline, the window is too small for WWE’s intensive logistical setup. Hence, WWE decided to officially move the event to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the first time the event will be held outside North America.

Baydala tweeted, “Today, the Nashville tourism groups & Tennessee Titans announced that #WrestleMania 43 was originally scheduled to be held in Nashville at the new Nissan Stadium in 2027. The reason given for why it is not taking place in Nashville was “the date didn’t work out, and we are looking at future years.” The new football stadium is scheduled to be completed in February 2027.”

Before WrestleMania 43, WWE will hold another event in Saudi Arabia. The 2026 Night of Champions is scheduled for June 27 in Saudi Arabia. However, there has been some speculation about whether the company might change its plans given the ongoing war situation in the Middle East.

Nick Khan Says WWE Will Proceed With Night Of Champions Only If It’s Safe

Speaking on the matter during a TKO town hall, WWE President Nick Khan revealed that WWE will only move forward with its Night of Champions plans in Saudi Arabia if it is safe for the talent to visit and perform in the region.

“We’re only going if it’s safe or if we’re allowed there. We are monitoring with our heads of security internally and with our government affairs folks externally, the situation there.”

“If U.S. citizens are allowed in at this moment in time, it is declared and deemed safe, we’ll all be going there. Saudi is deeply desirous of getting WWE back there and getting events restarted, especially those that come from the United States.”
