WWE CCO Triple H Brutally Slammed: “I Have To Give It A Thumbs Down”

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H receives major criticism following the Clash in Italy premium live event.

Clash in Italy featured five matches, four of which were championship bouts. Only one title changed hands on Saturday night, with Sol Ruca becoming the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Wrestling Analyst Calls Out Triple H Over Clash in Italy

Dave Meltzer was recently asked to share his thoughts on the Clash in Italy PLE on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer stated that he felt the event was very “underwhelming” and gave it a thumbs-down rating. He also blamed Triple H for producing what he considered a lackluster show.

Metlzer said that he only enjoyed watching the Jade Cargill vs Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship match, he found the rest of the matches mediocre.

I thought, with the possible exception of the Cargill match, I would say every match was less than I expected it to be. I thought overall it was okay, but I have to give it a thumbs down, and the reason is because of Paul Levesque.

He said that there would be something on this show that would change the entire foundation of WWE. And he’s done that like three times. He’s done this three times, and there has never been, on all three shows that he’s did this on, there has never been anything. It’s like, he thinks that this is what you do for the late buys.

I would have said the show was okay, but when you go in and tell me that something’s going to change the foundation of the company, and you do a show like this, I mean, an underwhelming show anyway, and it doesn’t, but it doesn’t matter.

It’s like you need, if you’re gonna say you’re going to do something, you need some big angle and the freaking MFTs standing there at the end with Jacob walking away with the Usos and Roman. Yeah, that ain’t it at all. It was just a very underwhelming show. (0:41 – 2:17)
