WWE Tag Team Star “Pushing” For Singles Run

WWE Karl Anderson and The OC

Karl Anderson wants to prove himself as a singles competitor in WWE.

While The OC member is a decorated tag team wrestler alongside Luke Gallows, Anderson has had success as a solo wrestler, most notably being a former NEVER Openweight Champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

With Alpha Academy member Chad Gable getting his moment in the spotlight on Raw, going on to challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship, Anderson is hoping he can follow a similar path.

Speaking with Ryan Satin on the Out of Character Podcast, Anderson is desperate to get that singles opportunity, and wanted to prove himself back in July:

“Yeah, I don’t know why I wasn’t in the Money in the Bank match. I’m down. Let’s get this rocking. AJ is the World Champion, Gallows can be the heater, and throw me in the ladder match. I’m dying for it. It’s just more about timing and waiting for the right story. I’m pushing for it. I hope for it,”

When Did Karl Anderson Re-Sign With WWE?

The Machine Gun would rejoin the company in October 2022 alongside Luke Gallows. The former Tag Team Champions would come to the aide of AJ Styles to re-form The OC. It has since been revealed that there was tension following The Good Brothers making their return.

Anderson was still the NEVER Openweight Champion for NJPW upon the signing and was permitted to defend the title at Wrestle Kingdom 17 while under WWE contract in a rare move by the company. Anderson would lose to Tama Tonga inside The Tokyo Dome.

H/t to Fightful.
