WWE “Super” Smackdown Lineup for Tonight (Jan. 31) Including Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match

TJR Wrestling

There are four matches that WWE has advertised for tonight’s “Super” Smackdown show on Fox. The reason they are calling it “Super” Smackdown is because the NFL’s Super Bowl is Sunday night also on Fox, so WWE has decided to throw the word “Super” in the title of Smackdown this week in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The four matches are:

* Roman Reigns and The Usos vs. King Baron Corbin, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler

This is a rematch from last week. If you were hoping that Reign was done with Corbin after beating him at Royal Rumble, apparently the feud is continuing at least for another tag team match. I’ll pick Roman’s team to win again just like last week.

* Intercontinental Championship Match: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Braun Strowman

Strowman has targeted the IC Title for several weeks now and after multiple wins by Strowman in tag team matches as well as other matches, he has earned a title shot. A title change is certainly possible here since Nakamura has had a long reign with the title while Strowman rarely loses matches. A cheap ending like a disqualification is possible as well.

Strowman hasn’t won a singles title in his WWE career yet, so it could be a big night for him. I think I’ll go for the DQ finish.

* Heavy Machinery (Tucker and Otis) vs. Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado) vs. The Miz and John Morrison vs. The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder)

It was announced that the winners of this match will earn a Smackdown Tag Team Championship match against The New Day at Super Showdown on February 27.

The WWE.com preview about this match doesn’t say if it’s elimination-style or first fall wins, so I assume it will be first fall wins. No matter what the stipulation is, a win for The Miz and Morrison seems very obvious here. The duo has worked together to help Morrison beat Big E and Kofi Kingston in singles matches in back to back weeks, so that’s obviously setting up a tag team feud. Any other result would be a surprise.

* Sheamus vs. Shorty G

This is a rematch from the Royal Rumble Kickoff Show that went a lot longer than I expected it to go. Sheamus won that match and I would be shocked if he doesn’t get another win here.

I will have a full review of Smackdown most likely later tonight. I don’t think I will be able to do it live, but I will try to get it posted later tonight.
