WWE Star Turns Heel For Very First Time

One star won’t be joining the likes of Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat and Rey Mysterio in the history books as they finally turn heel.

Roxanne Perez has been a plucky underdog since bursting onto the scene in NXT in 2022. Perez found early success in a tag team with Cora Jade winning the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship but Jade soon turned on her leading them to abandon the title.

Perez won the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge in 2022 and that led to her defeating Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship in December of that year. That win came just a day before Mandy Rose was fired by WWE over the explicit content on her exclusive content site.

Roxanne Perez Shows Her Vicious Side In WWE

Over the last few weeks, however, Roxanne Perez has been teasing a change in direction as she looks to re-capture that title from Lyra Valkyria. Perez won a battle royal to earn a shot at that title at Vengeance Day but her match with Valkyria was turned into a Triple Threat bout when Lola Vice cashed in her own Iron Survivor Challenge shot. Ultimately Valkyria retained and Perez was clearly not thrilled about that.

At NXT Roadblock, Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley challenged The Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship but Asuka and Kairi Sane managed to retain. After the bout, Roxanne Perez viciously attacked Valkyria. Valkyria ended up being stretchered out of the arena despite suffering what appeared to be a serious arm injury.

NXT General Manager Ava took to social media to express her displeasure at Perez’s actions:

try this sh*t on another show but certainly not on mine …
