WWE SmackDown Star Has Expiring Contract This Summer

WWE Legado Del Fantasma

A member of WWE’s Legado del Fantasma group on SmackDown could become a free agent in the summer of 2024.

There have been many reports in recent weeks about WWE contracts that have seen wrestlers in the company sign long-term deals or in the case of Becky Lynch, leave WWE for an extended break. Others like Natalya and Ricochet have been mentioned as veteran wrestlers with deals that are set to expire soon.

While big names like current World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest and former WWE Champions like Drew McIntyre & Seth Rollins have signed long-term deals to stick around, there are still many people within the company who likely want to get those new deals done.

It has been by Fightful Select that Angel (formerly known as Angel Garza) of the Legado del Fantasma group is set to become a free agent on August 1st if he doesn’t sign a new WWE deal. Garza is part of the Legado group with Santos Escobar, his cousin Berto, and Elektra Lopez. Angel is normally part of a tag team with Berto.

This past Friday on WWE Smackdown, Angel was seen talking to Andrade about possibly joining the Legado group, but Andrade turned them down. The story is that Berto doesn’t like the idea while Escobar was angry after Andrade snubbed them during the show.

Angel has worked for World Wrestling Entertainment since 2019 and is a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion and he also held the 24/7 Title once. Both of those titles are now defunct. Angel is 31 years old and has been wrestling since he was 16 years old, so he’s very experienced.

Chad Gable’s WWE Contract Set To Expire This Week

It has also been reported that Raw’s Chad Gable, who is a top contender for the Intercontinental Championship, has a WWE contract that is reportedly set to expire this Friday, June 7th if the company is unable to sign him to a new deal.
