The WWE NXT brand featured women’s wrestling the most on its TV show according to some statistics looking back on the year 2022.

Now that 2022 is in the rearview mirror as we begin 2023, it’s important to look back at some interesting stats once in a while. In this case, it’s all about what wrestling show featured women’s matches the most.

Over the last decade, there has been more women’s wrestling on television than ever before. While some companies like TNA/Impact were putting women like Gail Kim & Awesome Kong in high-profile feuds in the 2000s, WWE was a bit behind in terms of giving them screen time.

By the mid-2010s, WWE started pushing women’s wrestling a lot more and now we see them headlining TV shows on a regular basis. On the WWE main roster, they have Raw and Smackdown Women’s Champions (Bianca Belair & Charlotte Flair) while also having WWE Tag Team Champions (Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) that can defend the titles on any brand. The NXT brand has the NXT Women’s Title (Roxanne Perez) along with NXT Tag Team Titles (Kayden Carter & Katana Chance).

All Elite Wrestling has two women’s titles led by the AEW Women’s World Title held by Jamie Hayter and the TBS Championship that has been held by Jade Cargill since it debuted on January 5th, 2022 meaning this week will be one year of Cargill as the champion.

Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Champion is Jordynne Grace while the Death Dollz trio of Jessicka, Rosemary, and Taya Valkyrie hold the NXT Tag Team Titles.

In some statistics produced by /borisisthename in the Reddit Squared Circle group, it has been revealed the WWE NXT brand has by far the most women’s wrestling action among the main WWE and AEW television shows. The numbers below also include mixed tag and intergender matches.

WWE NXT (2 hours): 126 Matches, 52 Episodes

WWE Raw (3 hours): 93 Matches, 51 Episodes

Impact Wrestling (2 hours): 77 Matches, 50 Episodes

WWE SmackDown (2 hours): 68 Matches, 52 Episodes

AEW Dynamite (2 hours): 54 Matches, 52 Episodes

AEW Rampage (1 hour): 53 Matches, 52 Episodes

WWE NXT UK (1 hour): 33 Matches, 31 Episodes

As you can see above, in the case of AEW Dynamite and Rampage, they usually just stick to one match per episode with few exceptions.

The Raw Women’s Title will be on the line tonight on the first Raw of 2023 as Bianca Belair defends the gold against Alexa Bliss.
