WWE Reportedly Not Bringing In Female Star To RAW Anytime Soon
Last week, a report by Rope Break claimed that Nikkita Lyons may be WWE main roster-bound in the Summer.
The news stemmed from the fact that several company higher-ups had been impressed with Lyons’ performance since her return from injury.
The 26-year-old was recently brought up to NXT from EVOLVE. Her last match was on the May 12 episode of the developmental brand, where she teamed up with Zaria to face Lizzy Rain and the NXT Women’s North American Champion, Tatum Paxley.
In the closing minutes of the bout, she was betrayed by Zaria, who refused a tag and walked out, leaving Lyons to fend for herself against Rain and Paxley. The match ended after Rain hit her Thunderstruck finish and pinned Lyons for the win.
Now, another update has emerged on Nikkita Lyons’ future WWE main roster status, and unfortunately, it is not as optimistic. False Finish confirmed that despite the officials being impressed by her, she will continue to work on NXT and EVOLVE for the foreseeable future.
False Finish has learned that WWE officials have been very impressed with the work of Nikkita Lyons since returning from injury. While there were reports of a potential callup to #WWERAW in the Summer, it doesn’t appear likely at this time. Lyons is expected to continue working EVOLVE and NXT for the foreseeable future
Rikishi A ‘Big Fan’ Of WWE Star Nikkita Lyons
WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has been active in the wrestling industry through his YouTube podcast.
Like a true podcaster, the 60-year-old uses the platform to air grievances about different storylines, but also speaks highly about spots and wrestlers that deserve the spotlight.
While speaking on his Off the Top podcast last year, Rikishi spoke highly about Nikkita Lyons, admitting that he was a ‘big fan’ of hers.
I’m a big fan of Nikkita Lyons, that’s in NXT. We’re waiting, where is she? Hopefully, these girls here are able to get a chance to even sit in the same locker room with some of these names that I mentioned from the past, because you can really learn a lot to soak up a lot of that knowledge.
So, at the end of the day, it’d be nice to see a lot of this new female talent flourish, understand the psychology of the game, and learn to be a good storyteller in there. It’s not how many spots you do, or how your spots look. It’s like every movement, every in between, has to mean something, has to have the right emotions, facials behind it, good luck to everybody.
Lyons, meanwhile, has made her intention clear about challenging for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. However, she is facing challenges from the likes of Zaria and Lizzy Rain, who are equally determined not to back down.
