WWE News: Big E to Undergo Knee Surgery, Tweets “Bye For A Bit” (About Six Weeks)

TJR Wrestling

Big E is a very entertaining big man as part of the New Day trio. The group that also includes WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have been in a celebratory mood all week after Kofi’s WWE Championship win at WrestleMania. However, they can’t party too hard because Big E revealed today that he has a knee injury. Of course, in typical silly Big E fashion, he did not reveal it in in a normal way. He wrote a poem to share the news.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, it’s a knee scope surgery for his meniscus and he’s expected to miss around six weeks. It could be more depending on how it goes.

The injury likely took place during this week on Smackdown when Big E was in the main event with Kofi Kingston against Sheamus, Cesaro and the disappearing Drew McIntyre, which we covered earlier today here.

Also on WrestleMania Sunday, Big E tweeted that he talked to Hulk Hogan about the issues he had with Hogan’s past racial remarks and they seemed to have cooled things over now.

TJR Thoughts: Best wishes to Big E in his recovery from knee surgery. Missing six weeks or a few weeks more after that isn’t that long. It’s possible that once the knee gets better he may return to an on-camera role before he’s able to wrestle because he’s such an entertaining guy to watch. I think he’s one of the funniest guys in WWE and he makes me laugh all the time. Plus, the big man can do the splits! That’s not easy!

On the plus side, the people on Twitter that ask me daily if Big E is going to turn on Kofi might actually stop asking me for about six weeks. Or…they will keep doing it. They are persistent, after all. Do not split up the New Day! They are too good together.
