A WWE Hall of Famer made a huge revelation about Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest. The legend in question is Adam Copeland (fka Edge).

During his time in the WWE back in 2022, Adam Copeland formed the “Judgment Day’ faction by adding Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley to the mix. However, the erstwhile Edge ended up getting betrayed by his own group when Finn Balor was added. Copeland went on to feud with the faction for months, which also elevated the Judgment Day into a top heel faction.

Meanwhile, Adam Copeland recalled how he came up with the idea of starting a group with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley and what Vince McMahon’s reaction to it was at the time.

WWE legend on joining forces with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley

Speaking with SHAK Wrestling, the WWE legend, Adam Copeland revealed how he pitched the idea of forming a group with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley:

Vince [McMahon] said, ‘I want you to start a group, and I want it to be like the brood.’ And I went, ‘Okay, okay.’ So, I’m thinking three people, and he said, ‘Who would that be?’ I was like, ‘Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley.’ No hesitation. Those are the two people that could make this a pretty cool group.”

The erstwhile Edge also recalled how Vince McMahon was surprised by him pitching Damian and Rhea’s names for his group, but they went on to gain more experience:

I think he was kind of surprised by that. And that made me realize he didn’t understand what he had in those two. And I thought that was a shame. So, I truly thought, hey, this can be a vehicle. So hopefully they just start getting more reps and some more experience and I think that’s essentially what it did. And then I got to feud them for a year.”

Copeland concluded that he is proud of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley for how they made the Judgment Day work:

So I got to be their baby face along with Rey [Mysterio], and when you got two baby faces like us, chances are your heel group is going to do okay. And still going, I think. So you know, it worked. But I’m proud of them. I’m super proud of them. I’m proud of Rhea [Ripley]. I’m proud of like, where she’s taken it and gone with it, and it’s exactly where I thought it could go.” [H/T f4wonline.com]

Meanwhile, Judgment Day is a completely different faction now, as both Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest left the group two years ago.
