It seems WWE has missed out on a big name free agent despite being favourites to complete the signing with AEW ready to swoop in.
Kamille is best known for her run in the NWA where she held the NWA Women’s Championship for a massive 814 days but now it seems the star is looking elsewhere for her next move. WWE had been expected to sign her but now it looks like that is off the table.
PWInsider has reported (via WrestlePurists) that Kamille is no longer expected to be heading to WWE. One WWE source had revealed in the past that the former NWA Women’s Champion had been offered an NXT deal but discussions are now not moving forward.
It is noted Kamille has been in “deep discussions” with AEW and Tony Khan’s company is seen as a more likely destination as it would allow her to pursue her ambitions in acting as well.
Kamille Makes Visit To AEW As WWE Deal Falters
Kamille was backstage at a recent AEW show but it is thought the star was visiting friends rather than having high-level contract talks.
AEW recently added Deonna Purrazzo to its women’s division and there could be another major signing to come. Tony Khan will make a big announcement on Dynamite and if that happens to be a show in Boston on March 13th then all signs point to Mercedes Mone becoming All Elite.
