WWE Planning Major International Show In September

There could be another major international show in WWE this year as the company looks like it has secured a date for the event.

It’s been an incredible start to 2023 for World Wrestling Entertainment in terms of Premium Live Event business. They started with a huge crowd at the Royal Rumble in San Antonio followed by a vocal crowd in Montreal for Elimination Chamber.

That was followed by two nights of WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles with over 75,000+ fans in attendance on each night. Backlash was a huge hit in Puerto Rico thanks to the presence of Bad Bunny. Fans have talked about that as one of the loudest crowds in company history.

This past Saturday, World Wrestling Entertainment held their first Saudi Arabia event of the year in Jeddah called Night of Champions and that was considered a huge success.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is discussing September 9th for the first major show in years in India. That’s a Saturday and also one day before the NFL regular season begins on Sunday, September 10th.

While it was not confirmed if that will be a Premium Live Event, it likely will be. Nick Khan, WWE’s CEO, had previously revealed that WWE plans to hold an event in India this September.

There was going to be a WWE event at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India in January of this year, but it was postponed earlier this year due to WWE wanting to wait for TV companies to sort out a merger that was taking place.
