WWE Adds Championship Steel Cage Match To SummerSlam
WWE SummerSlam will feature a steel cage match.
The official confirmation came on the July 18 episode of SmackDown when Adam Pearce announced that Solo Sikoa would defend his United States Championship against Jacob Fatu.
The cousins have been at loggerheads since Fatu betrayed Sikoa at Money in the Bank PLE in June.
Their multiple clashes led to Fatu, who was the then-US Champion, defending his belt against Sikoa at WWE Night of Champions.
The Riyadh PLE witnessed the return of Tonga Loa and the debut of Talla Tonga, as well as Sikoa claiming the gold, thanks to multiple interferences.
The latest SmackDown episode saw the cousins clash again. Adam Pearce, who was stepping in for the absent SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis, made the cage match announcement.
Solo Sikoa Arrested On WWE SmackDown
SmackDown opened in commotion, showing MFT members having survived a road accident and explaining their side of the story to the police officers.
Backstage, the cops approached Jacob Fatu and took him away for questioning.
It was later revealed that ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ had been cleared of all charges, as Jimmy Uso welcomed him back.
The duo then attacked MFT, who was already in the ring, cutting a promo.
After Sikoa was rescued by Talla Tonga, the police officers appeared and arrested him for providing false testimony against Jacob Fatu.
Solo Sikoa was also seen asking for Cody Rhodes’ help, but was denied, and then profusely saying “sorry,” asking to be let go.
