Will Ospreay Match Announced For AEW Revolution

Will Ospreay is signed to an AEW contract and now he has a match at the company’s Revolution PPV.

It was announced in November at the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view that Will Ospreay signed with All Elite Wrestling. After eight years in AEW that saw Ospreay win many titles in NJPW, including the IWGP World Title, Ospreay chose to sign with AEW over going to WWE or another wrestling company.

Ospreay recently competed in his final NJPW match at The New Beginning in Osaka where he teamed up with his United Empire teammates for a 10-man Steel Cage match against the Bullet Club War Dogs. The match lasted about an hour when David Finlay beat Ospreay to win the match.

After the match, Ospreay tweeted this emotional message on Twitter/X saying he would miss New Japan.

The good thing about Ospreay signing with AEW is that he’ll be able to still compete in some NJPW matches due to the two companies working together over the years.

As for his future, Ospreay is headed to All Elite Wrestling as a full-time performer. That doesn’t mean he’ll be wrestling every single week, but it means he’ll be a full-time performer in AEW and will likely have a lot of success there.

Who Will Ospreay Face At AEW Revolution?

On AEW Dynamite in Cedar Park Texas, Don Callis and the Don Callis Family were interviewed backstage. During the interview, Callis claimed that his family was a victim of their own success because nobody wanted to wrestle Konosuke Takeshita or Powerhouse Hobbs. That led to Callis booking this match featuring two of his wrestlers.

The match Callis announced will see “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita facing off against Will Ospreay.

Don Callis has high hopes for it since he called it “the match of the decade” to try to hype it up.

“The best part about this is the Don Callis Family wins and after Revolution you’ll all be talking about the Don Callis Family and the match of the decade!”

After Dynamite ended, AEW officially announced that Will Ospreay will wrestle Konosuke Takeshita at the Revolution PPV on March 3rd.
