Major Update On WWE’s Potential Signing Of Fourth-Generation Star

Triple H Holding Contract WWE

Recent reports suggested that WWE may be eyeing the signing of a fourth-generation superstar in the near future.

The talent in question is David Finlay, the son of former United States Champion Fit Finlay, who currently serves as one of the producers in the company, as well as doubles as a trainer and assistant coach in the Performance Center.

Finlay’s youngest son, Brogan, is signed with the Stamford promotion, where he performs on NXT under the name Uriah Connors. Uriah is being featured in a storyline, having recently separated from Chase U to join Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Lexis King.

David Finlay, on the other hand, has been active in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he made his debut in 2015.

Of late, there had been a buzz about him looking to work elsewhere, which not only caught WWE’s attention but also AEW’s. In fact, there have been reports about AEW potentially offering him a dual contract that would allow him to perform in the United States and make appearances in Japan.

David Finlay Has Been Discussed In WWE Circles

According to a recent report by Bodyslam.net, David Finlay has been discussed within the WWE circles, although there is no confirmation of a deal signed between both parties.

On February 11, the 32-year-old competed in a singles match against Callum Newman in a lost cause. After the bout, he seemingly bid adieu to the promotion by bowing to the crowd, hugging NJPW booker Gedo, and kissing the NJPW logo.

Finlay’s contract with the Japanese promotion already ended in January, but he stuck around to meet other obligations.

During his time in NJPW, David became a 2-time IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion, including winning the inaugural title. He also won the IWGP Tag Team Championship once with AEW’s Juice Robinson.
