Triple H Delaying WWE WrestleMania Match Announcement Due To Injury Concern
WWE’s biggest premium live event of the year, WrestleMania 42, is less than two weeks away, and according to reports, the company hasn’t fully locked in the match card yet.
So far, 13 matches have been added, with seven matches set for Night 1 and six matches for Night 2. According to the report, WWE is expected to add one more match to Night 2, bringing the total to 14 matches for WrestleMania 42.
On Tuesday morning, WWE announced the main events and lineup for WrestleMania 42 on ESPN, but a match between Asuka and Io Sky was not included. According to Pro Wrestling and Body Slam, WWE is still tentatively planning that match.
The only reason the bout hasn’t been officially added to the match card yet is because of Nikki Bella. She was announced to compete alongside her twin sister, Brie Bella, in the Fatal Four Way Women’s Tag Team Championship match.
Nikki Bella sustained a left ankle injury during the March 27, 2026, episode of SmackDown. It reportedly happened during an exchange with Charlotte Flair. She was seen wearing a protective walking boot, but remains hopeful and confident that she will be available for WrestleMania 42.
However, if she is unable to compete, Triple H is expected to replace The Bella Twins with The Kabuki Warriors in the Women’s Tag Team Championship match, according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer.
