Trick Williams Admits To Embarrassing Mistake During Randy Orton WWE Promo
Trick Williams and Randy Orton shared the ring space on the January 9th, 2026 episode of WWE SmackDown.
During the segment, there was a moment when Williams smacked the mic out of The Viper’s hand.
However, he smacked it a little too hard, and the mic went flying, which became a viral moment from the segment. In fact, both Orton and Williams were a bit taken aback.
Trick Williams opened up about the viral moment with Randy Orton
On No Contest Wrestling podcast, he was asked about the moment he smacked the mic out of Randy Orton’s hand, and whether or not he saw where it landed, especially since he said “oh sh*t” on live TV.
Williams explained that NXT never had fans on that side, so he would never think about that. However, SmackDown was different and he did not think about the impact of sending a mic flying too hard. He revealed that no one had gotten hurt and the fans cleared the way for the mic.
Now, on NXT, we don’t have fans on that side, so I never had to think about that. You see what I’m saying? So I’m like, ‘Oh man, I should have thought about that. Maybe I should have smacked it down,’ because I smacked it and it went up a little bit.
You could feel the trajectory of the microphone—this beam line, right? You know, toward all these people. I just see people parting like the Red Sea, you know what I mean? Everybody just cleared out of the way.
From what I heard, nobody got hit. And that’s what I’m hoping the case is—nobody got hit, man. I tried to apologize in German, but they didn’t understand what I was saying.
This encounter has led fans to wonder if a feud between the NXT Alumnus and The Viper is going to be presented on WWE TV soon.
